As Georgia’s seasons turn, life at Dickey Farms turns right with them. From the first sun-kissed strawberry of spring to the last crisp apple of fall, each season offers a unique reason to visit or enjoy our products. Explore our seasonal activities and offerings below and come wander, taste and make memories with us.

Spring

Spring wakes the farm after winter, with orchards bursting into bloom before the fruit arrives — a truly breathtaking sight. This season, strawberry picking steals the show. With our U-Pick Strawberry experience, you can stroll the fields, search for the perfect berry, and fill your own bucket with gorgeous, freshly-picked produce.  Strawberry picking is open from late March to late May, depending on weather and crop conditions.

When you visit us during the spring, you can try all our favorite delights, including: 

  • Pre-picked strawberries
  • Homemade strawberry shortcake.
  • Fresh strawberry ice cream served in waffle cones, sugar cones or cups.
  • Strawberry fritters and breads
  • Strawberry hand pies. 

You can also enjoy our Farm Market while sipping on a retro soda — parents can relax under a covered pavilion while children play on our farm playground. Explore local, seasonal vegetables and take home some of our favorite Georgia Grown jams, jellies or preserves as well as Georgia pecans, cheese straws and much more! Additionally, we offer freshly smoked BBQ sandwiches on weekends — please call for availability. 

Another spring highlight is the Dickey Farm annual Strawberry Festival. Expect strawberries and fresh produce, crave-worthy food trucks, local vendors, a  kids’ zone with inflatables, live music and plenty more for a fun-filled day for the whole family.

Summer

There’s a reason they call Georgia the Peach State. As the days warm up for the long, hot summer, imagine biting into a tree-ripened peach — fragrant, sweet, and gloriously juicy. Can’t make it to the farm? We’ll ship fresh peaches straight to your doorstep, carefully picked and packed for peak flavor.

If you visit us, you can enjoy the following treats: 

  • Fresh peach or strawberry ice cream and swirl ice cream served in cups, sugar or waffle cones. 
  • Fried peach hand pies.
  • Peach fritters. 
  • Fresh-baked peach and strawberry bread. 

While our famous Georgia peaches may be the headliners this season, there’s plenty of summer produce waiting to be savored. Enjoy local, seasonal farm market vegetables straight off the truck. Think sweet corn, tomatoes, peas, beans, squash, zucchini, Vidalia onions, snap beans, cucumbers, pecans and more — call to see what we have daily! Smoked BBQ is also available on weekends.

As summer’s heat fades, autumn paints the farm in crimson and gold. The cool, crisp air invites you to slow down, soak in the changing leaves and enjoy Dickey Farms' fall activities, which include the following: 

  • Pumpkin patch: We have a great selection of jack-o'-lanterns, carving pumpkins, mini pumpkins and beautiful decorative gourds. Bring the family to pick out some pumpkins for your porch, bring them home and carve away in a rocking chair.
  • Corn maze: Come get lost in the corn maze, with twists, turns and giggles waiting at each corner. Race your friends, snap a selfie at the finish and then warm up with a delicious apple cider.
  • Other activities: Take the family on a hayride or enjoy other activities like corn cannon, jump pad, wall ball, barrel train, duck races and gemstone mining. 

We also host an annual Fall Festival. Beyond pumpkin patches, corn mazes and hayrides, you can browse local vendors, savor tasty food trucks and enjoy live music. Plus, the kids will love the games, inflatables and rides. 

Hungry? There’s always something delicious on the menu at the farm. Our butter pecan ice cream is layered in and topped with fresh pieces of Georgia pecans from our fall pecan crop. We hand-toast them and serve them warm on top of the soft-serve butter pecan ice cream — it’s addicting, trust us. If peach ice cream is your favorite, we still have you covered! 

You can also shop an assortment of local, in-season fruits and vegetables such as muscadines, scuppernongs, apples, sweet potatoes, okra and more at our Farm Market. 


Winter

When winter settles in, the farm eases into its off-season rhythm. We’ll be pruning peach trees and planning next year’s crops, already dreaming of the fun and memories to come. But don’t worry — even when it’s frosty, you can still enjoy the farm. Our Farm Market is open year-round, winter included. Shop for holiday Georgia Gifts or come make a custom Pecan Tin or gift box on-site.

This season is also the perfect time to place online orders for holiday gifts — share a taste of Dickey Farms with loved ones far away, or treat yourself. Easy-to-ship favorites include preserves, jellies and pickled peaches, all delicious and ready to enjoy throughout the year. Plus, our butter pecan and peach ice creams are still available on-site!
