Let's dive into the most frequently asked questions.

About Our Online Store

Do you ship?

Yes, we sure do! We proudly ship many of your favorite Dickey Farms products nationwide, including our famous Georgia peaches during peak season. Simply place your order online and we'll take care of the rest. You may also call us at 1-800-732-2442 and we will gladly help you place your order. Orders are generally shipped quickly except for peaches which have specific ship dates. Our corporate order page makes shipping to customers, friends and family easy.

Where do you ship peaches?

We ship our handpicked Georgia peaches to every state in the US except for California. California has agricultural restrictions on any produce coming into their state and will not allow our sweet Georgia peaches to be delivered. Our peaches are shipped either by UPS ground or UPS second-day air depending on the delivery state. For more information on shipping, please review our shipping policy.

How are peaches kept fresh during shipping?

We take shipping peaches very seriously. Each peach is hand-selected at just the right stage of ripeness, gently packed in protective packaging and shipped quickly to help them arrive beautiful and delicious. While minor bruising can occasionally occur during transport, our packing process is designed to keep your peaches secure and fresh.

About Peaches

What is the best way to keep peaches fresh?

Once your peaches arrive, place them stem-side down on your counter on a linen napkin, pillowcase or cotton woven towel as these fabrics breathe. (Don’t use terry cloth as it holds in moisture and tends to encourage mold.) Allow them to finish ripening to the ripeness you like. Remember some people like their peaches very soft and some enjoy them apple hard. When they are at the ripeness you like, pop them in the refrigerator to extend freshness for a few extra days. And of course, don't forget to enjoy them soon. Perfect peaches don't stick around long!

Can we come pick peaches?

While we love welcoming you to the farm, we do not offer peach picking in the orchard. Our food safety protocol prevents visitors in the field. However, you can visit our historic packing house and farm market to watch us pack peaches, shop for fresh peaches, homemade treats, gifts and Georgia Grown seasonal produce!

About Pecans

How are pecans grown?

Pecans begin their journey on our Georgia trees each spring. Pecan trees love our warm, humid climate to thrive. Blossoms form, kernels develop through the warm months and by fall, the shells harden and the nuts reach full flavor. Once harvested, pecans are cleaned, cracked, sorted and prepared for you to enjoy — fresh, crunchy and full of Southern charm.

How do you store pecans?

To keep pecans fresh and flavorful:

  • Store them in an airtight container.
  • Refrigerate for up to nine months.
  • Freeze for up to two years.

If kept in a cool, dry pantry, they'll stay good for several months — but refrigeration keeps that just-picked taste much longer.

About Strawberries

Can we pick strawberries? How long is strawberry season?

Yes, we do offer strawberry picking – it is such a fun outing with your family or friends. Strawberry season generally begins towards the end of March and weather permitting ends the last of May. You are always welcome to visit us during strawberry season to pick fresh, juicy berries or to pick up berries at our farm market.

Strawberry season is short, but sweet and always worth the wait!
