Clingstone Peaches

Clingstone peaches are small, sweet, and meaty peaches that kick off harvest season. At Dickey Farms, we've been growing peaches in the heartland of Georgia for generations. Our family has owned and operated the farm since 1897, and we have dedicated our lives to growing the highest quality peaches.
What Is a Clingstone Peach?
Clingstone peaches are a medium to small peach variety that gets its name for the way that its flesh “clings” to the pit of the peach. This summertime treasure has a delicate texture and sweeter taste than other varieties. Characteristics include:
- Color: Yellow base with bright red-tinted blush
- Size: Medium to small
- Texture: Juicy, soft and velvety
- Flavor: Rich and sweet
What Are the Most Common Uses of Clingstone Peaches?
The sweet flavor, soft texture and size of these peaches make them ideal for jams, desserts, and cocktails. Some of the most common uses for this type of Georgia peach are:
- Canning and preserving: They are the perfect size and flavor to make canned goods. With a few extra cuts, you can slice clingstone peaches and add them to your preserved pantry.
- Jellies or jams: Their extra-sweet flavor and soft texture make them ideal for creating a rich and spreadable jelly or jam.
- Sweet ice desserts: They are the perfect fruity touch for frozen sweets. You can enjoy them in smoothies, make creamy peach and honey ice pops or add them as a healthy topping for ice cream.
- Baking: They make the perfect warm, comforting desserts. You can use them for a rich fruit cobbler or as the filling for a delicious peach pie.
- Cocktails: These juicy and sweet peaches are great companions for lighter spirits. You can pair thin slices of clingstone peach with vodka, bourbon, and white wine to create flavorful, refreshing cocktails.
What Are the Varieties of Clingstone Peaches?
